Beneath the waves, a huge canyon trench furrows the ocean floor, filled with every conceivable formation. These aquatic mesas and caverns teem with life and color, from the huge leviathans that move ponderously through the open areas to the tiny creatures that lurk in the smallest crevices.
The waters off the eastern coast of Naroom and Paradwyn have been tamed and settled by a peaceful civilization of aquatic magi. Their domain is known as the Orothe Deeps. While the oceans of the Moonlands cover 2/3 of its surface, most of the Orothe civilization lies in the Mare Eliwani - the Moonlands Sea. There, deep in a huge canyon trench, the Orotheans have built their cities. The undersea landscape is filled with brilliant aquatic mesas and caverns, colorful coral, and abundant sea life.
The citizens of Orothe live in domed cities, which are close to the heart of the Moonlands. There are also tunnels winding through the various realms of the moonlands, allowing Orothean citizens to journey to other regions far inland from the coastlines. These tunnels also wind towards the Core...
Artifice - building - is the trademark of the Orothe civilization. Indeed, the Orothean citizens have ingenuity to craft durable materials where fire cannot exist to forge and metal is eaten by rust. This character is shared by the Magi of Orothe, who specialize in crafting Relics.
Oscent Mar is the capital city of Orothe, located in the Mare Eliwani. Like other Orothe cities, it is a series of coral castles encased in crystalline bubbles, golden towers and lovely sea-lillies.
The Orothean Vault of Science lies near Oscent Mar, and is the storehouse of the collected Relics of generations of Orothean magi, as well as mysterious relics from the earliest days of the Moonlands. Long ago, the magi of Orothe discovered the vault, and relocated their capital city to overlook it. As a treasured storehouse of both lore and power, it provides a focal point for the magi of Orothe.
As its name suggests, it is an area filled with the ruins of a past civilization that was not mentioned in any way. Having been abandoned long since before the current story line, this place has is teeming with whole reefs corals.
Orothe island is the first part of Orothe to be explored by the player. This island consists of a lighthouse and a small house where the secret stairway to the tunnels is hidden in.
